My name is Michael. I’m 24 years old and from the north east of England. I’ve spent the last few years studying for a mathematics degree at the University of Edinburgh, a time which opened me up to many opportunities. Over the last five years I have spent time in Liberia, Uganda and Tanzania and so I decided to create this blog to keep in touch with my friends and family in the UK, but also to commentate on the joys and struggles of my experiences abroad. You can find all of the blogs from my visits to Africa on this website.
As one chapter closes, another opens and I am currently living in the Philippines where I am volunteering with the Salesians of Don Bosco. I am based in a community in Borongan, Eastern Samar working with young people teaching mathematics and playing music. Stay tuned for the ride!
